Foot Traffic Controller

Alaisha Alexander is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University. She obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2018. Her current research interests are focused in Value Sensitive Design. As automation becomes more commonplace and fully-autonomous vehicles a foreseeable future, it is becoming imperative to address qualitative concerns like ethics and responsibility in the quantitative engineering decisions and considerations. Alaisha is interested in exploring how to support the consideration of these concerns so that engineers and other key contributors can design ethically and thoroughly.
