Vivian Patterson, a Mechanical Engineering graduate student, is examining the effect of modelling choices on vehicle performance when leveraging a model predictive control framework. She plans to utilize Trudi's perception capabilities to adapt the vehicle intelligently to environmental uncertainty. This includes being able to modify the vehicle's trajectory in order to safely acquire information in occluded sensor regions or to respond to the motion of other cars on the road.
